Pre-school (3 years – school age)
Pre-school is led by a pre-school teacher, with a staff ratio of 1 adult to 8 pre-school children.
As confidence grows and children demonstrate skills in building relationships, our activities allow learning opportunities through purposeful play. A team of qualified staff provide care and supervision so that children receive time and space to produce work independently to prepare them for their school days.
Besides educational visits and outings in the nursery minibus, there is a large pre-school space, equipped with computers; sand and water play areas, mark making and creative play areas and a role play area.
We also have gymnastics lessons and a music teacher who visits the nursery.
Within our healthy eating programme children will be encouraged to grow their own vegetables (with a little help from adults!).
During their time with us, your child’s achievements will be recorded in a learning journey book, which is constantly updated. Your child’s daily routine is also recorded in a diary, which can be used by both the parent and nursery staff as a form of communication between home and nursery.

All children have access to drinking water throughout the day.
Staff are enthusiastic in their delivery of the early years Foundation Stage programme, which supports the development, learning and care of the children, through four complementary themes:
• A Unique Child: Recognising that every child is a competent learner
• Positive relationships: Allowing children to learn to be strong and independent
• Enabling Environments: Which play a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning
• Learning and Development: Allowing children to develop and learn in different ways and at different rates.
We accept all childcare vouchers. These voucher schemes are a government initiative aimed at helping working parents. Employees can get up to £55 a week or £243 a month in childcare vouchers, free of tax and national insurance.
We offer a settling in session of approximately two hours (or more if needed) on booking a place, to help your child build confidence and settle into nursery life.
